Workshops are for 18 hours of instruction consisting of six, three-hour class held once per week for six weeks.

Couples and Singles: Cost for the Full Six-Week Workshop is $115 per person for all 18 hours of instruction.

Vermont Dance Workshops

1 Two Step: Easiest dance to learn and quickly become highly proficient at. Can be performed with either Country-Western or Ballroom influences, or a combination of the two.

Triple Step: A fun and super easy-to-learn dance with a simple repeating three-step pattern.

East Coast Swing: An American foundational swing partner dance performed in both the country and ballroom genres. It is a fun and popular beginner-friendly dance characterized by a graceful circular motion with a grounded feel due to its simple repeating pattern.

West Coast Swing: A smooth, graceful, somewhat improvisational, partner dance that is adaptable to virtually any type of music from R&B to contemporary country. This dance is defined by basic core patterns and fluid, rolling continuous movement. The footwork for the West Coast is built on the basic steps of the two- and triple-step dances.

Lindy Hop (AKA Jitterbug): An energetic partner dance with African and European influences originating in Harlem, New York. The dance became a cultural phenomenon during the “Roaring 20s” Swing Era due to its improvisation steps and iconic moves. These frantic moves are how the dance got nicknamed the “Jitterbug” when Cab Calloway said the dancers “looked like a bunch of bugs jittering around.”

Waltz: Three Versions

  • Ballroom: Performed in a "box" with a forward-back and side-to-side motion.

  • Country: Travels around the floor while performing turns and spins.

  • Viennese: A graceful and fluid waltz done at a fast tempo while traveling around the floor while constantly spinning.

Horseshoe Shuffle: A graceful country circle repeating pattern partner dance made popular on the west coast.

Electric Slide Line Dance: A four wall line dance that became popular in the mid 70s and is still a huge favorite at weddings and parties across the country. This is a simple dance with an easy, repetitive pattern.
